The central theme of this profile of Choo Sung-hoon is an angular jaw and curved smiling eyes. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

It has an angular outline with a clear border between the cheekbones and the lower jaw. The depth of the side of the chin is revealed at an oblique angle.

The angled part does not mean that the entire face is square, but it means that the section where the direction of the curve changes is visible. If you follow the line that goes down from the side of the cheekbones to the lower jaw, the difference between the straight section and the round section is revealed.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

The entire forehead is exposed under the short hair. Light and dark are divided in the center and on both sides of the forehead.

You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The moment you smile, your eyes narrow and lines appear around the corners of your eyes. The shadow under the eyebrows makes the vertical width of the eyes look low.

In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

The eyebrows are dark and thick. The outer edges are slightly raised, emphasizing the upper contour.

Eyebrows can be examined by distinguishing between the density of color and the curve of the line. By comparing the inner thickness and the direction of the outer edge with the eyelid line, you can see how the outline surrounding the eye is formed.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

The bridge of the nose is clearly raised and the tip is round. From the side, the protrusion of the nostrils and tip of the nose are distinct.

From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

The width of the mouth widens with a smile that exposes the upper teeth. The whiskers around the mouth emphasize the boundaries.

Jawline and Chin

The angle of the lower jaw and the wide chin tip are noticeable. The border between the neck and chin is clearly connected.

When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.

Step 7: Overall Balance — An Angular Jaw and Curved Smiling Eyes

Choo Sung-hoon's angled lower jaw contrasts with the curves of his eyes and cheeks when he smiles. If you look at the border of the widened mouth and beard together, the horizontal direction at the bottom is also noticeable, and angular and round facial expression lines appear at the same time.
