The central theme of this profile of Gummy is the nose, mouth and chin in a singing profile. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

In profile, the outline of the forehead, nose, mouth, and chin is revealed. It is difficult to compare the width of the front face with just this stage photo.

In this composition, the border from one cheek to the chin is clearly revealed rather than the width of both sides of the face. By connecting the outer line of the cheekbones and the bending point of the chin, you can distinguish between the width of the face and the depth of the sides.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

Flip your bangs to the side to show part of your forehead. When you raise your head, your forehead is tilted backwards.

You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The moment she sings, her eyes are narrowed. Because of the side and stage lighting, the details of the eyelids are limited.

In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

The exposed eyebrows extend over the eyes in a gentle curve. The opposite eyebrow is obscured due to the angle.

The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

From the side, the protrusion of the bridge and tip of the nose is clear. The angle at which you raise your head reveals more of the lower part of your nose.

From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

The moment when the mouth was opened wide while singing was captured. The movement of the mouth and the direction in which the chin is lowered are visible together.

Jawline and Chin

The lower jaw is long and lowered in the movement of opening the mouth. It is necessary to distinguish it from the jawline of a closed expression.

The mouth in this scene is influenced by both vocalization and props. Only by examining the visible line of the lips and the outline of the chin can you distinguish the shape at the moment of mouth movement from the usual stationary shape.

Step 7: Overall Balance — The Nose, Mouth and Chin in a Singing Profile

Gummy's staged photos show a side line extending from the forehead to the nose and chin rather than the width of the front. If you examine the singing mouth and the angle at which the head is raised, the lateral outline that changes during movement is revealed, rather than the still form of the face.

Gummy's Facial Features at a Glance

  • Face shape: In profile, the outline of the forehead, nose, mouth, and chin is revealed.
  • Eyes: The moment you sing, your eyes are narrowed.
  • Chin: The lower jaw is long and lowered as the mouth opens.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
