The central theme of this profile of Jang Ki-yong is a long nose bridge and a slender lower face. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The long vertical outline narrowly converges at the chin. The diagonal line under the cheek is relatively clear.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The bangs fall down and cover most of the forehead, leaving only a small gap.
The end line of the bangs creates a new border on the upper part of the face. By distinguishing between the exposed space above the eyebrows and the space covered by the hair, you can avoid confusing the size of the forehead itself with the blank space created by the hairstyle.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are horizontally long and narrow on the outside.
The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows below the bangs are dark and relatively straight.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is long and straight, and the tip of the nose is rounded.
The tip of the nose and both nostrils are areas where small curved surfaces are gathered. If you look at the widening border on both sides instead of just looking at the bright side in the center, you can see the width that changes from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
In a closed mouth, the center of the upper lip is clear and the lower lip is slightly thicker.
Jawline and Chin
The jawline is narrow, but a small gap remains at the tip of the chin.
In a closed mouth, the curve in the center of the upper lip and the curved surface of the lower lip can be examined separately. Comparing the horizontal width of the lips to the width of the tip of the chin reveals how small lines and large outlines are placed within the lower face.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Long Nose Bridge and a Slender Lower Face
Jang Ki-yong's long nose bridge creates a vertical flow with the lower face narrowing at the cheekbones. The long eyes and closed mouth between them are placed horizontally, creating a contrast between the clear central line and the two horizontal lines.
Jang Ki-yong's Facial Features at a Glance
- Face shape: Long vertical outline that narrowly converges at the chin.
- Eyes: The eyes are horizontally long and narrow on the outside.
