The central theme of this profile of Jun Hyo-seong is rounded cheeks and open eyes. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
It has an oval shape that connects the curve of the cheeks and the small tip of the chin. A round volume remains around the cheekbones.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The hair is divided on either side of the parting, exposing the center of the forehead. A gentle curve is visible along the hairline.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are wide open and the curve of the upper eyelid is clear. The lower eyelid lifts up with a smile.
In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows extend relatively straight and have thin ends. A bright space remains between the dark eyebrows and the eyes.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is thin and the tip is round. The height of the nose is revealed at the mid-angle between the front and the side.
From this angle, both the length of the bridge of the nose and the degree to which the tip of the nose is brought forward are visible. The line where the bright side meets the shadow is also affected by lighting, so you can see the boundary between light and dark and the actual outer outline.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The smiling mouth is wide and the upper teeth are visible. The rise of the corners of the mouth is connected to the round cheeks.
Jawline and Chin
The jawline falls gently and gathers into a small tip. There is no clear square shape at the bottom.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — Rounded Cheeks and Open Eyes
There is a visible difference in width between Jun Hyo-seong's cheeks and the tip of her small chin. If you look at the horizontal movement of the eyes and mouth in a smile, a configuration in which the round face of the cheek is at the center of the change in facial expression is revealed.
