The central theme of this profile of Kim Hae-jun is rounded cheeks and jaw in an event photograph. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

Photos from public events show rounding of the cheeks and lower jaw. Because the composition contains the entire body of the person, the large outline of the face is visible first.

Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

The hat and side bangs cover the forehead and hairline.

In this composition, the border of the upper face is not the hairline, but the edge of the hat. Therefore, the height or width of the entire forehead cannot be determined just by looking at the space above the eyebrows, and can be examined by focusing on the area exposed under the hat.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The moment you smile, your eyes narrow and the area around one eye is partially obscured by your bangs. Because this is a distant photo, the small lines on the eyelids are not clear.

In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

The shadow of the hat and bangs obscure part of the eyebrows, making it difficult to distinguish their overall length and curves.

The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

The round tip of the nose is revealed in the center of the face. The detailed border of the bridge of the nose is blurred due to the small face size and lighting.

The tip of the nose and both nostrils are areas where small curved surfaces are gathered. If you look at the widening border on both sides instead of just looking at the bright side in the center, you can see the width that changes from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the nose.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

In a smile with the mouth slightly open, the horizontal lines of the mouth and the rounded outline of the lower lip are visible.

Jawline and Chin

A round width remains at the tip of the chin, and the lower jaw gently follows the curve of the cheek.

When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.

Step 7: Overall Balance — Rounded Cheeks and Jaw in an Event Photograph

In Kim Hae-jun's event photos, the cheeks and lower face visible under the hat and bangs are the focus of observation. The horizontal line of the mouth that changes into a smile and the rounded tip of the chin can be seen, but the details of the eyebrows and eyelids, which are unclear in the distance, are not neat.

Kim Hae-jun's Facial Features at a Glance

  • Face shape: In public event photos, the cheeks and lower jaw appear rounded.
  • Eyes: The moment you smile, your eyes narrow, and the area around one eye is partially obscured by your bangs.
  • Chin: A round width remains at the tip of the chin, and the lower jaw is gently connected to the curve of the cheeks.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
