The central theme of this profile of Kim Jong-kook is narrow eyes and a broad lower face. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The cheekbones and cheeks are wide, and the lower jaw also leaves a certain width. The cheeks are rounded when smiling.
When looking at horizontal width, you can divide it into the width of the cheekbone height and the width of the lower jaw height. Whether the wide side of the cheek extends to the lower face or suddenly decreases at the chin is a criterion for distinguishing the shape of the outline.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The center of the forehead is exposed between the parted bangs. The sides are covered by wavy hair.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

When smiling, the eyes become very narrow and the corners of the eyes fold. The volume under the eyes also goes up.
In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
Some of the eyebrows are hidden by the bangs. The visible section runs low along the snow.
The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The round shape of the tip of the nose and nostrils is revealed. The bottom of the nose creates width in the center of the face.
The tip of the nose and both nostrils are areas where small curved surfaces are gathered. If you look at the widening border on both sides instead of just looking at the bright side in the center, you can see the width that changes from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The smiling mouth is wide horizontally and the upper teeth are visible. The rise of the corners of the mouth is connected to the curve of the entire cheek.
Jawline and Chin
The tip of the chin is wide and round, and both sides of the lower jaw also maintain width. The bottom of the face is not sharply narrowed.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — Narrow Eyes and a Broad Lower Face
In Kim Jong-kook's smile, there is a clear change in the vertical width of the eyes. If you look at the way the cheeks and mouth move together with the large outline of the lower jaw, you can see the difference between the part that changes into an expression and the frame of the face.
