The central theme of this profile of Park Hae-il is a straight profile and low brows. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
It is a long oval shape with width left on the cheekbones and lower jaw. The outlines on both sides come down relatively straight.
The angled part does not mean that the entire face is square, but it means that the section where the direction of the curve changes is visible. If you follow the line that goes down from the side of the cheekbones to the lower jaw, the difference between the straight section and the round section is revealed.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The center of the forehead is revealed with the hair raised, and some of the bangs fall down.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are horizontally long and the curve of the upper eyelid appears small.
The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are long and low, creating a horizontal line above the eyes.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is straight, and the round tip and nose are distinct.
The tip of the nose and both nostrils are areas where small curved surfaces are gathered. If you look at the widening border on both sides instead of just looking at the bright side in the center, you can see the width that changes from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The upper lip is relatively thin and the center of the lower lip is thick. The mouth is slightly open.
Jawline and Chin
Subtle angles remain along the lower jaw and the tip of the chin also maintains its width.
In scenes where there is a gap between the lips, the boundaries of the upper and lower lips are revealed. If you look at the degree of mouth opening and the space left up to the chin, you can see how momentary movement changes the length of the lower face.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Straight Profile and Low Brows
Park Hae-il's eyes and eyebrows create a low horizontal orientation at the top. If you look at the flow of the nose and lower jaw together, a thin line running across the face and a large surface running vertically are revealed.
Park Hae-il's Facial Features at a Glance
- Face shape: Long oval with width left on the cheekbones and lower jaw.
- Eyes: The eyes are horizontally long and the curve of the upper eyelid appears small.
- Chin: Subtle angles remain along the lower jaw and the tip of the chin also maintains width.
Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
