The central theme of this profile of Seo Dong-joo is a tapered outline and full central lips. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.

Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw

It has an oval shape that tapers from the cheek to the chin, and the outline of the tip of the chin is clear.

Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.

Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows

Thin bangs cover the forehead, leaving a small gap in the center.

In compositions where the forehead is exposed, you can see a wide area extending from the hairline to the eyebrows. Comparing the direction of the upper curve and the lower eyebrows makes it clear what lines surround the upper part of the face.

Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are horizontally long and the outer lines are emphasized with makeup.

The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.

Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes

Part of the eyebrows is hidden by the bangs, and the exposed part continues gently.

The visible eyebrow pieces were not drawn to form the full eyebrow shape. If you look at the direction of the confirmed line and the gap between the eyes, you can distinguish between the border of hair or props and the actual eyebrows.

Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth

The bridge of the nose is narrow and has a rounded tip.

The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.

Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face

Lips and Mouth Corners

The curve in the center of the upper lip and the volume of the lower lip are visible. The mouth is closed.

Jawline and Chin

The lower jaw is narrowly gathered, but leaves a small angle and width at the tip of the chin.

In a closed mouth, the curve in the center of the upper lip and the curved surface of the lower lip can be examined separately. Comparing the horizontal width of the lips to the width of the tip of the chin reveals how small lines and large outlines are placed within the lower face.

Step 7: Overall Balance — A Tapered Outline and Full Central Lips

The difference between Seo Dong-joo's narrowing jawline and the center of her plump lips is clear. The outer contour gathers inward, the lips leave a small curved surface, and the long makeup line at the corner of the eye adds a horizontal direction at the top.

Seo Dong-joo's Facial Features at a Glance

  • Face shape: Oval, tapering from the cheeks to the chin, with a clear outline of the tip of the chin.
  • Eyes: The eyes are long horizontally, with the outer lines accentuated by makeup.

Together, these features show how the face's outer contour relates to the eyes and lower face. Looking at the connections between lines and surfaces helps explain the overall balance visible in this photograph.
