The central theme of this profile of Son Tae-young is a long oval face and a narrow nose bridge. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
It is a long oval shape that leaves width in the cheeks and cheeks and slowly narrows to the chin.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
The forehead is partially open with a side parting. The hairline on one side is covered by hair.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The eyes are relatively wide open and the curve of the upper eyelid is visible.
The shape of the eye can be better revealed by dividing it into the horizontal length and vertical opening. The curve of the upper eyelid, the lower border, and the area that tapers to the corner of the eye combine to form a single outline.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are long and tapered at the ends, creating a low arch.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The bridge of the nose is long and thin, emphasizing the vertical direction of the face.
The long bridge of the nose creates a central line that extends from between the eyes to above the lips. Comparing the narrow width of the bridge of the nose and the rounded surface of the tip, the parts that appear as lines and the parts that appear as surfaces can be distinguished within the same nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
In a small smile, the width of the mouth increases and the corners of the mouth rise.
Jawline and Chin
The long jaw line leads to a round chin tip, and the angle of the lower jaw appears weak.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — A Long Oval Face and a Narrow Nose Bridge
Son Tae-young's long oval shape continues in the same direction as the long nose bridge. The round upper line of the eyes and the horizontal width of the smile divide the vertical flow, and the round tip of the chin completes the outline below.
Son Tae-young's Facial Features at a Glance
