The central theme of this profile of Yum Jung-ah is an open forehead and defined eye lines. We examine the visible contours and placement of the features in seven steps, starting with the overall face shape and ending with how its lines and surfaces fit together.
Step 1: Face Shape — The Outline of the Cheeks and Jaw
The width of the sides of the cheeks and the small tip of the chin are visible. The boundaries of the cheekbones remain weak in the oval outline.
Even within the large oval frame, the width of the cheekbones and chin are not the same. If you follow the speed from the widest part of the face down to the tip of the chin, you can see changes in the outline that are not revealed by length alone.
Step 2: Forehead — Between the Hairline and Brows
Hair swept to the side reveals a wide forehead. The upper part continues in a gentle curve.
You should look at the shape of the exposed part of the forehead and the hair on both sides. Since the parting and bangs are the lines that divide the upper margin, there is no need to immediately interpret the asymmetry seen in the photo as asymmetry of the forehead itself.
Step 3: Eyes — Eyelid Curves and Horizontal Length

The horizontal length of the eyes is clear and slightly narrows outward. The lower eyelids rise when smiling.
In photos with facial expressions, the vertical width of the eyes and the height of the cheeks below the eyes change. If you look at the curve of the lower eyelid rather than just looking at one point at the corner of the eye, you can read the movement of the center of the face more specifically.
Step 4: Eyebrows — The Lines Above the Eyes
The eyebrows are relatively long and have thin ends. Create a lower arch on the outside than the center.
The low eyebrows can be compared side by side with the horizontal line of the eyes. Looking at where the eyebrows start and end and how thin they become at the ends reveals the relationship between the two overlapping lines at the top.
Step 5: Nose — The Central Line and Depth
The vertical line of the bridge of the nose is clear and the tip of the nose is round. The width of the nose is not excessively wide from the front.
The tip of the nose and both nostrils are areas where small curved surfaces are gathered. If you look at the widening border on both sides instead of just looking at the bright side in the center, you can see the width that changes from the bridge of the nose to the bottom of the nose.
Step 6: Mouth and Chin — Expression and the Lower Face
Lips and Mouth Corners
The central curve of the upper lip and the rounded lower lip are visible. The corners of both mouths rise in a small smile.
Jawline and Chin
A diagonal line runs from below the cheekbones to the chin. A small round surface remains at the tip of the chin.
When the mouth opens or the corners of the mouth rise, the width of the mouth and the space left up to the chin also change. If you look at the raised position of the cheeks and the tip of the chin together rather than just the lips, you can see the process by which a smile changes the ratio of the lower jaw.
Step 7: Overall Balance — An Open Forehead and Defined Eye Lines
Below Yum Jung-ah's open forehead lie horizontally long eyes and gentle eyebrows. If you look at the diagonal line coming down from the border of the cheekbones to the tip of the small chin and the rounded surface of the lips, the outer outline and the central curve can be distinguished.
